Yolanda M. Rogers, 74, Tipton, died at 8:02 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. She was born November 2, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio to Michael & Anna Marie (Puliese) Polo.
She graduated from Tipton High School and attended Indiana University for a year studying nursing. Yolanda was a member of West Street Christian Church and 4-H leaders. She retired from Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo.
Yolanda and four of her siblings were adopted by Bessie Beckett after Yolanda’s mother died, leaving nine children. Her life was changed when her son had an accident in 1979 which left him disabled. After the accident she gave her life to the care of her son for the last 33 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone. Thanks for all the love and support of all the friends and caregivers over the years.
She is survived by, Adriana Rogers, of Tipton; a grandson, Rance DeLano Rogers, of Tipton; a great-grandson Kaiden Rogers, of Tipton; a sister, Terresa and Jim Grabe, and family, of Ohio; a brother, Rialin Pollo and family, of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by a son, R. Rance Rogers, four sisters and one brother.
Yolanda and her son, Rance’s funerals will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4 at the West Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. Cremation will follow. Visitation for both will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
