Warren West

Warren WestWarren West, 92, Anderson, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at Edgewater Woods in Anderson.  He was born on January 27, 1916 in Williams, Indiana to Ziba and Nora (Cundiff) West. Warren married Dorothy Kerr on June 12, 1937 and she survives.Warren was a carpenter and a member of Carpenter Union 1016 for seventeen years and also a  farmer.  He also loved  to fish, garden, and hunt.Survivors include his wife of 71 years Dorothy of Anderson; three children, Emma Lou Baker and husband Charles, Anderson, Rickie Dean West and wife Pauline, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Teresa Robin Price and husband Joe, Pendleton; two sisters, Nina Reagan and husband Claude, Florida, Evadna Delany, Florida; eight grandchildren, Michael Garrison and wife Lisa, Bradley Garrison and wife Karen, Kanda (Baker) Martin and husband Matt, Erin, Amanda, and Tiffany West, Eric, and Emily Price; nine great-grandchildren, Tyler, Devin, Darin, Sarah, Julia, Katherine, and Benjamin Garrison, Gracie and Malachi Martin, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by several siblings:  Zona Craig, Melvin West, Inez Hash, Ferrell Garwood, Ula Ooley, Leafy Grubbs, Sheldon West, Winifred West, Marshal West, and four other siblings died in infancy.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Lutz presiding.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
