Tom Hensley

Tom Hensley, 75 of Tipton died Monday, December 26, 2016 at I.U. Health Tipton Hospital. He was born in Tipton on September 3, 1941 to Lester and Mary (Osborn) Hensley. He married Mary Atchley on June 30, 1963. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2006.

Tom was a toolmaker at Delco Remy in Anderson, retiring in 1997 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed traveling the United States with Mary and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Tom was a 1959 graduate of Tipton High School.

Survivors include three children, Greg Hensley and special friend Valerie of Noblesville, Angie Tolle and husband Mark of Tipton and Tim Hensley and wife Chelli of Kempton; six grandchildren, Ryan Hensley, Jessica (Tolle) Heald and husband Andrew, Ashley Tolle, Lauren Tolle, Leah Hensley and Tate Hensley. Tom has three siblings, Phil Hensley of California, Linda Pederson and husband Dennis of San Bernardino, California and Karl Hensley and wife Kathy of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, a sister Marilyn Hensley and a brother Dale Hensley.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Carr presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
