Thomas K. Hobbs, 66 of Tipton County passed away unexpectedly at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born December 11, 1946 in Kokomo to John & Mary Alice (Blessing) Hobbs.
Tom was a 1964 graduate of Windfall High School and proudly served his country in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had worked many jobs in his lifetime including at AutoZone and farming. He had owned the 4-Way Bridge Bait Shop in Dugger, Indiana. Tom is also a former member of Wildcat Township Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Dugger Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Alice Miner, Windfall; sons, Daniel Hobbs and wife Renee, Wichita, Kansas, Jeff Hobbs and wife Tammy, Olive Branch, Mississippi, Jacob Hobbs and wife Janet, Howard County; one step-son, Jon-Eric Eliker and wife Abbie, Ohio. Four grandsons, Tyler Hobbs and wife Jordan, Ryan and Chase Hobbs, and Evan Cripe all of Wichita, Kansas. He is also survived by three sisters, Tammy Miner, Windfall, Diana Pine and Debbie Grey, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father John Hobbs and step-father John Mack Miner.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Freelan officiating and burial to follow in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Volunteer Services (135), 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202.
