Susie Anderson

June 23, 1944 — January 4, 2024

Susie Anderson, 79 of rural Frankfort, died peacefully at her residence Thursday, January 4, 2024. She was blessed to be surrounded by her loving family. Susie was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on June 23, 1944 to Clifford and Jesse Vivian Tompkins. She married Sherman Anderson I on December 26, 1964, he survives.

Susie was very proud to have worked for many years at Clinton Central School Corporation, caring for their special needs children as she drove the school bus route. Her activities and interests were many. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, puzzles, gardening, canning, her chickens, collecting antiques, attending auctions and being outdoors. She was active in the Chrysler Union Hall. Her talents were utilized as a board member for the Clinton County Special Olympics. At a very early age, Susie was saved and was proud of her Christian values as she attended Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Mack, children Angela Whetro and husband Don of Noblesville, Donna Anderson of Indianapolis, Sherman Anderson II of Frankfort, Teresa Richard and husband Wallace of Columbia, Kentucky and Cindy Harris and husband Mark of Columbia, Kentucky. Her siblings include Mary Jane Pennycuff and Katrina Sapp of Tennessee. Susie has several grandchildren, Austin Heffelmire, Michael Heffelmire, Taylor Daniels, Peyton Daniels, Mackenzie Whetro, Fallon Daniels, Madison Whetro, Liam Daniels, Anna Anderson, Blake Heffelmire, Sophia Heffelmire, Delaney Heffelmire, Kendra Popplewell, Joshua Richard, Noah Richard, Bailey Marcum, Hayden Popplewell, Luke Popplewell, Waylon Marcum granddaughters-in-law Brandie Heffelmire and Samantha Heffelmire.

Susie was preceded in death by her brother Michael Tompkins.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 12 at 2:00 P.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Pennycuff presiding. Burial will follow at Kempton Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Friday from Noon until service time.
