Shirley J. Finney

Shirley J. Finney, 87 of Windfall died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. She was born on August 14, 1936 in Chaffee, Missouri to Leo and Violet (Gore) Summers. Shirley met her soul mate Thomas R. Finney and they were married on September 5, 1959, spending 64 years together.

Shirley worked at General Motors Delco, retiring in 1989. She could often be found solving word puzzles which greatly intrigued her. Shirley also spent countless hours with a good book. She would often read several each week. During the summer months she loved to be outside tending to her flower garden.

Shirley is survived by her husband Thomas, children Steven D. Finney and wife Tammy of Kokomo and Lisa Burns of Kokomo. Grandchildren include Allyssa Burns and Zack Burns. Shirley has a special niece, Deborah Drum.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
