Sharon D. Smith, age 83, of Tipton, passed away at 9:56 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at I.U. North Hospital in Carmel. Born on August 10, 1941, in Wauseon, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of George Lewis and Shirley Mae (Olman) Campbell, and spent her early years in the nurturing embrace of her hometown until 1960.
A dedicated professional, Sharon made her mark as an accountant, establishing her own accounting service, which she adeptly managed until her retirement in 2011. Throughout her career, she exemplified diligence and integrity, earning respect and admiration from her clients and colleagues alike. Sharon was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge and Tipton County Republican Women, where she formed lasting friendships within her community. She was also a master seamstress.
Sharon's legacy will forever live on through her cherished family. She is survived by her two children, Jodi Mattingly and Todd Smith, along with two sisters, Connie Lynch of Ohio and Denese Fridella of Florida. Her strength of character will continue to shine brightly through her four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Sharon’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Her family kindly invites those who knew and loved her to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this poignant time.
