Robert L. "Bob" MooreRobert L. "Bob" Moore, 84 of Tipton died at
5:13 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at his residence. He was
born April 4, 1928 in Albion, Indiana to Clarence "Ink" and Bessie
(Wells) Moore. He married Nancy Sorg on June 29, 1956 and she
preceded him in death on January 1, 2006.Bob was a foreman for road construction crews and
had worked for Rieth-Riley and E&B Paving. His friends at work
called him "The General". In his retirement years he had
worked at Horton's Hardware.He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in
Tipton where he was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was
a graduate of Albion High School and had attended IU-Ft. Wayne.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War.
He earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and received an award from
the government of South Korea.Bob is survived by two sons, Michael "Skeet" Moore
of Tipton and Gayle Moore of Massachusetts; two daughters, Robin
Cook, Greenfield and Wreny Howell of Anderson; three sisters,
Helen Ruth Hipshire and husband Delbert, Columbia City, Judy Sparrow
and husband Harold, Arizona and Joanne Davis, Ft. Wayne; one
brother, Wayne Moore and wife Ina, Ligonier.He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ReAnna
Cook, Renee Cook, Bryan Moore, Josh Moore, Jeremy Moore, Whitney
Moore, and TJ Fortner; and eight great-grandchildren, Zoe Fortner,
Ellie Fortner, Jordan Cook, Cobie Currie, Jaylen Currie, Carolina
Zemlick, Ariana Meyer and Hope Moore; one sister-in-law, Glenda
Moore of Auburn. He was preceded in death by one grandson,
Robert Fortner; one sister, Mildred Miller and one brother, Paul
Moore.Bob's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday,
January 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton with Rev. Dr.
Linda Philabaun presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery
with military honors. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Thursday at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to the American
