Richard Wayne “Dick” Harvey

Richard Wayne “Dick” Harvey, 77 of Tipton died at 1:02 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence.  He was born on November 7, 1940 to Ross & Reba (Rovene) Harvey.  On July 24, 1966 he married Betty Marie Moore and she preceded him in death in May 1993.

Dick was an analytical engineer.  He graduated from Purdue University.  During his career he had worked for Westinghouse and Cooper-Bessemer, which was bought by Rolls Royce.  He retired in 2002.  Dick was a member of West Street Christian Church and Friends of the Library.

Dick is survived by his son Scott Douglas Harvey of Ohio.  He is also survived by his caregivers and friends, Carey Tolle, Kokomo, Lori Johnson, Kokomo, Sherrie Johnson, Elwood, Amy Meyers, Kokomo, Sindy Porter, Frankfort, and Teresa Williams, Kokomo.  Dick was preceded in death by his sister Marjorie Ann Harvey and his brother William Harvey.

Funeral services for Dick will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  Visitation will be Monday from noon until time of the service.  Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Grove City, Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
