Richard “Dick” D. Davis, 90 of Windfall passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Autumnwood Village in Tipton. Dick was born in Windfall on October 7, 1934 to Thomas C. & Winnie V. (Andrews) Davis. He married Beverly Blessing on April 1, 1955 and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2006 after 50 years of marriage.
Dick graduated from Windfall High School in 1952. He worked at Stellite in Kokomo, retiring in 1974. He then went to work at Voris Seeds in Windfall and he retired from there in 1996. He was a member of the Windfall United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee and was always willing to assist in the repairs and maintenance of the buildings. He was a member of the Windfall Lions Club for over 30 years where many would remember his service cooking during many years of fish frys.
Dick was very community minded as he served at the food pantry and utilized his handy man skills repairing broken water lines in town prior to the existence of the utility department.
He took great enjoyment in being involved with people. He looked forward to family gatherings; Windfall Alumni reunions and he especially loved hosting the family Christmas each year. In the last few months he was able to enjoy the camaraderie of the residents and staff at Autumnwood Village.
Survivors include his two children, Donald W. Davis and wife Robin, Sharpsville, and Mary L. Justice and husband Mike, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and a son-in-law Jerry Fennell, Sharpsville. Richard is also survived by three siblings, Kathleen Bogue, San Antonio, Texas, John Davis, Windfall and Sue Shockney of Tipton. Richard also has 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter-in-law, Randall L. Davis and wife Karen and a daughter Kelly E. Fennell and a sibling James Davis.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Noon at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Revs. David Stout and John Mansur will preside. Burial will follow at Windfall Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00A.M. until noon at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial donations be made to: Keystone Board Scholarship Fund in the name of Gregg Alexander.
