Preston L. Cole

Preston L. ColePreston L. Cole, also known as Alabam, 79, Tipton,  died at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2006 at Tipton Hospital.  He was born February 1, 1927 in Guin, Alabama to Jesse P. & Golda (LeDuke) Cole.  On March 9, 1963, he married Nancy Goar and she survives.He was self employed most of his life and for the last 30 years he owned and operated Cole's Backhoe Service.  He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church, was a member of the Tipton Elks, American Legion and National Rifle Association.  Preston was a combat engineer in the U.S. Army during WWII.Survivors include his wife Nancy; three sons, Phil and Rick Cole, Frankfort and Mike Cole, Fishers; one step-son, B.J. Andrews and his wife Dr. Marilyn Andrews, Downers Grove, Illinois; three step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin and Alexander Andrews.His funeral will be at 11:00 Wednesday, September 27 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ingle presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
