Petronel Shuck

Petronel Shuck, 88 years old of Kokomo, succumbed to complications from a stroke on April 26, 2023 in Kokomo. She was born in Tipton County on May 27, 1934 to Mary (Bauer) & Dallas Davenport. She lived most of her adult life in Kokomo.

Petronel was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Shuck whom she married on October 25, 1952. He passed away on January 10, 2016. She worked as a cook at Haworth High School and enjoyed many activities including painting, sewing, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Scheid and husband Mark of Avon; one granddaughter, Marielle Scheid and one sister, Elizabeth Sommers of Delaware, Ohio. Petronel is preceded in death by one son, Steven, who died as an infant; as well as a sister, Patsy Oberleas and a brother, Jarvis Davenport.

Funeral services for Petronel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Brown presiding. Burial will follow in Tetersburg Cemetery. Visitation is also Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
