Pearl Thompson

Pearl Thompson, 99 of Windfall, and formerly of Tipton, passed away at 1:58 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Century Villa in Greentown. She was born on May 29, 1924 in Wayne County Kentucky to Lonnie & Texas (Duncan) Honey. On November 14, 1944 she married Robert W. Thompson. The couple enjoyed 27 years of marriage together before Robert’s passing on July 28, 1972.

Pearl loved to cook and made a career of it, cooking up countless meals at Bob’s Café. Everyone always left with a full stomach and a smile. She also worked at the canning factory. Pearl had a strong faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greentown. She was also a member of the 50’S Club in Windfall. Besides her cooking abilities, Pearl also loved to quilt; she made several quilts that her family will cherish for years to come.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Harden and husband Gary of Windfall, and Renida Tressel of Kokomo; six grandchildren, Ronnie Brown, Chris Harden and wife Samantha, Jamie Garmin and husband Kyle, Bethany McKinney and husband Jay, and Dalton Tressel; four great-grandchildren, Josiah Brown, Jay Harden, Isaac Garmon and wife Jade, Jacob Harden; two great-great-grandchildren, Luke and Brody Garmon.

Pearl was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary, Margaret, Edna, Alonzo, Claude, Eugene, and Jessie.

Pearl’s funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon on Saturday until time of the service. Pearl will be buried beside Robert in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. Online condolences made be made thru the funeral home’s website at www.young-nichols.com.
