Norma Lou Whisler

Norma Lou Whisler, 85 of Plainfield died Friday, December 29, 2023 at Avon Healthcare. She was born in Arcadia, Indiana on June 1, 1938 to Richard H. and Marie (Coffin) Whisler. Norma had lived in Tipton, Iron Mountain, Michigan and eventually in Plainfield.

Norma worked for a brief time at Sycamore Services and Laughner’s Cafeteria. She was very artistic. Her talents were shown in her crocheting, hand tooled rugs and she very much enjoyed painting.

Survivors include her sister, Joyce Kincaid and husband Jerry, nieces Pamela Kincaid Zelinsky and Jennifer Kincaid Kitchens and husband Gerald. Norma was blessed to spend time with her five great-nieces and three great-nephews as well as her four great-great-nieces and 11 great-great-nephews. She had two special friends, Sue Farmer and Joan Fishel.

She was preceded in death by two nieces, Sheryl Kincaid Hinshaw and Debby Whisler Harmon, a brother Fredric Whisler, great-nephew Lee Harmon, her parents and her grandparents Lena Coffin and Everett and Cora Whisler.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Noon at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ashley Sherrard presiding. Visitation will also be on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until Noon. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.
