Norma Jane BurketNorma Jane Burket, 79, Tipton, died at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born May 22, 1929 in Tipton to Cloiyde & LaVerne (Pitcher) Porter.  On October 24, 1946 she married Donald G. Burket and he survives.She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Tipton.  Norma enjoyed woodworking, gardening, crafts and playing the piano.Survivors besides her husband Don include five children, Steven Burket and his wife Marlene, Bradenton, Florida, Debra Bowman, Kokomo, Jane Galloway and her husband Joe, Kokomo, Rex Burket and his wife Rhonda, Kokomo, and Brian Burket and his wife Laura, Walton; two sisters, Jeanne Maynard, Tipton, and Marge Storer, Kohler, Wisconsin.Norma is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Michael Burket and his wife Rose, Tyson Schoolman and his wife Jodi, Kyle & Brett Galloway, Ashleigh, Tracey, Rex and Noah Burket, Matt Burket and Allison Sears; two great-grandchildren, Cole Riley and Karsyn Schoolman.She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Burket, and her parents.Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 8 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ward presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday.Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 911 E 86th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46240.
