Nettie Jane LangleyNettie Jane Langley of Tipton went home to be with the
Lord on July 1, 2007 at 2:26 p.m. She passed away at the Tipton
Hospital while in the presence of her children, grandchildren and several
great-grandchildren. She was 91 years of age.She was born Nettie Jane McCubbins in Tipton to Earnest
and Donna (Needham) McCubbins on December 7, 1915. Her step-father
was Charles Owens. After living in Hamilton County for a short time,
and while still a young girl, the family moved to Tipton where she
attended elementary and high school.She married Donald M. Langley on August 13, 1935 and he
preceded her in death on September 27, 1986.She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and was
a member of the West Street Christian Church.Nettie was a homemaker but perhaps more importantly, she
was a caregiver to so many. She took care of her elderly
mother-in-law for many years before her passing at the age of 97.
Her husband, Don, was on kidney dialysis for approximately seven years and
she learned how to operate the very complicated equipment in their home
three times each week. She also provided care to virtually every
grandchild and several great-grandchildren and helped to shape their
lives. She always put others needs ahead of her own.She is survived by sons Ronald Langley and wife Florence
of Kokomo and Gerald Langley and wife Patricia of Tipton. Also, her
daughters Beverly Hollis and husband Don of Kokomo and Brenda Dane of
Tipton as well as a half-brother, Leroy Owens of Tipton and half-sister,
Joan Sharp of Elwood.Her grandchildren are Donita Rippy, Lisa Goodrich, Gary
Langley, Mike Langley, Doug Dane, and Shelly Walsh, all of Tipton.
Also Tim Hollis of Lafayette, Rich Langley of Kokomo and Mark Langley of
Fishers. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a
son, Allen, her parents and step-father as well as siblings Lena Rice,
Thelma Burns, Mary Miller, Margaret Holmes and Raymond McCubbins.
Also half-brother Phil Miller and half-sisters Wilma Jean Owens and Betty
Fenn.Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton is in charge of the
arrangements. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 4 from 2:00-4:00
and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00
a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and officiated by the Rev. Roger
Burns-Watson. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial
will follow at Tipton's Fairview Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
