Ned E. Kemper

Ned E. Kemper, 93 of Windfall went home to meet his Savior at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Tipton County on January 3, 1921 to William N. and Nellie (Ramseyer) Kemper. He married Mary Esther Hinds on October 12, 1941 and she survives.

Ned was a farmer. He belonged to Rock Prairie Baptist Church and over 50 years with Gideons International. He had served as President and a board member of Tipton County Farm Bureau, dedicating over 50 years of service to the organization. He was a member of the Windfall Lions Club and was a charter member of the Madison Township Fire Department, volunteering for over 60 years. He was a member of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, two children; Carolyn J. Miner (Logan Sparling) of Kokomo and Kenneth W. Kemper (Kaye) of Windfall; five grandchildren; Scott (Christie) Miner, Tim (Heather) Miner, Chris (Laurie) Miner, Angela Grimes and William Kemper; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Beach of Tipton and a brother, George Kemper of Noblesville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wilburn.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, at Rock Prairie Baptist Church with Dr. Logan Sparling and Rev. Kevin Carr presiding. Burial with full military rites will follow at Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church.
