Mildred A. Brunk, 94 of Tipton died at 5:18 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019 at her residence with her son close by. She was born on November 20, 1924 in Howard County to Alonzo & Myrtle M. (Cannon) Kirby. On October 10, 1948 she married F. Gene Brunk and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2008.
Mildred was a graduate of Kokomo High School in the Class of 1942. She had worked at the Kokomo Tribune, was a secretary at Pioneer and worked at Perfect Circle and the Tipton County Courthouse. She was a member of West Street Christian Church and a former Deaconess at the church. Mildred loved to sew and read.
She is survived by her two children, Jeannine A. Brunk-Aleksa and husband John Aleksa, Carmel, and Dennis G. Brunk, Lafayette; one grandson, Scott Aleksa and one great-granddaughter, Caileah Aleska.
Funeral services for Mildred will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
