Michael J. Brown, 62 of Tipton died at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born June 4, 1951 in Tipton to Allen O. & Margaret (Dane) Brown.

Michael worked at Chrysler as a job setter and mail carrier, retiring in 2008. He was a 1969 graduate of Sharpsville Prairie High School and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Kokomo. He enjoyed bowling, cards, pool, croquet, work and family. He was a member of the UAW Local 685.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Matthew Waine Brown and wife Kathleen, Kokomo, Michelle Desiree Mathews, Tipton, and Jeremy Wade Brown and wife So Me, Woodbridge, Virginia; his former wife, Donna Brewer, Virginia; three sisters and two brothers, Barbara Murphy and husband Larry, New Town, Virginia, David F. Brown and wife Connie, Gurnee, Illinois, Nancy Dailey and husband Larry, Kokomo, Daniel Brown and wife Judy, Kokomo, Bonnie Peters and husband Al, Tipton.

Michael is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Caitlin Mathews, Alexcia Brown, Sara Fye, Courtney Mathews, Kaleb Brown, Devon Brown, Eric Mathews, Jayda Brown, Nathaniel Brown, Dayne Brown, and Jacob Brown; one great-granddaughter, Aniyah Grace and 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Brown and Patricia Bronson, two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services for Michael will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Shocklee presiding. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, Illinois, 60674.
