Michael D. Alderfer, 37 of Kokomo died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 8:10 p.m. at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Howard County on December 13, 1976 to Larry and Norma (Cardwell) Alderfer. He married Kaylee Colburn on October 12, 2013 and she survives.
Michael was employed at Sam's Club in Kokomo. He was attending Purdue University at the IUK campus studying Information Technology. He was a 1995 graduate of Tri-Central High School, a member of Normanda Christian Church and the Endless Desire Car Club of Kokomo. Michael was a Star Wars fan and a computer enthusiast. Most of all, he was a great father, husband and son.
He is survived by his wife, Kaylee; three children, 6 year-old Shyla, 4 year-old Bella and 2 year-old Ethan; his parents Larry and Norma; his sister Gail Zann (Brian) of Fishers, a brother Kirk Alderfer (Ginger) of Rockmart, Georgia; mother and father-in-law Kimberly and Gerald Colburn and sister-in-law Sara Colburn (Shaun Jones) of Kokomo.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, at Normanda Christian Church with Steve Brown presiding. Burial will follow at the Normanda Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton and from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church Monday.
