Max E. Crouch, 89, Tipton, died at 1:02 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born April 6, 1923 in Wildcat Township, Tipton County to Guy & Helen (Meyncke) Crouch. On June 6, 1942 he married Rosemary Warner and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2004.
Max worked for the US Postal Service retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Farm Bureau. Max served on the Tipton County Council for twelve years and as a Tipton County Commissioner for four years. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Air Force.
He is survived by seven sons, James Crouch and wife Cris, of Arcadia, Robert Crouch and wife Brenda, of Bunker Hill, Indiana, George Crouch, of Tipton, Charles Crouch and wife Kathy, of Bloomfield, Indiana, Jeffery Crouch and wife Jan, of Tipton, Patrick Crouch and wife Judy, of Bedford, Indiana. Douglas Crouch and wife Linda, of Tipton; two daughters, Linda Enright and husband Kenneth, of Windfall, Katherine Bennett and husband Rick, Kokomo; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Max was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Max’s funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, Tipton, with military honors. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.
