Mary Woellwerts Zacharnacki

Mary Woellwerts ZacharnackiMary Woellwerts Zacharnacki, 94, died at 2:54 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2006 at Community Parkview Nursing Home in Elwood. Mary was born in Elwood on November 9, 1911 to George and Ellen (Langan) Woellwerts.  She married Matthew Zacharnacki on May 4, 1946; he preceded her in death on March 18, 1980.  Mary had previously lived in Indianapolis and Tipton.Mary graduated from Indiana University School of Music.  She had been a music teacher in several Madison County Schools.  She belonged to St. Luke Catholic Church in Indianapolis.  Mary was involved with the Red Cross in the Pacific area during WWII.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew, son Thomas, and her brother George Woellwerts.Funeral services will be on at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 4,  at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding.  Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 at the funeral home.
