Mary Katherine Lowe

Mary Katherine Lowe, aged 80, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at IU North Hospital in Carmel. She was born on February 29, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, to Carl and Lucille (Kinser) Gross.

Mary grew up in Dayton, where she graduated from Colonel White High School. After completing her secondary education, she began her collegiate studies at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania then later graduating from the University of Dayton. Mary held a position in administration at the University of Dayton and also worked as a real estate investor. After her professional career, she moved to Tipton County and then later to Noblesville.

A woman of deep spiritual faith, Mary was an active member of the Holy Spirit Parish at Geist. In addition to her professional endeavors, she was a published author and had a strong interest in architecture, genealogy, and interior design. Mary was also committed to holistic health practices and enjoyed outdoor activities such as golfing, hiking, biking, and playing tennis. 

She is survived by her two children, David Lowe and wife Audry of Tipton County, Benjamin Lowe and wife Manpreet of Fishers; sisters, Carla Steinbach and husband Dale of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Linda Perkins and husband Fred of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Bella Lowe, Akaash Lowe, and Vishal Lowe. Mary is also survived by the father of her children, Paul Lowe of Noblesville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Pummill.

Mary Katherine Lowe leaves behind a legacy enriched by her varied accomplishments and the lives she touched. Her family and friends will remember her for her warmth, intelligence, and unwavering spirit. 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fishers, Indiana with Father Cole Daily presiding. Later on Tuesday there will be a visitation at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.  A private family burial is planned for the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Miamisburg, Ohio.
