Mary Lou ComptonMary Lou Compton, 85, Tipton, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at her daughter's residence.  She was born in Newport, Indiana on September 21, 1924 to John and Susan (Bird) Watson.  On June 26, 1948 she married William F. Compton, Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 15, 2005.Mary Lou worked as a medical clerk for Tipton Clinic and Tipton County Memorial Hospital until she retired in 1985.She is survived by three children, Bill Compton and wife Marilyn, Okeechobee, Florida, Gail Sue Keating and husband Mike, Indianapolis, Penny Jo Thomas and husband Rick, Wyoming, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Brad Compton, Brent Compton and wife Jennifer, Angie Weins and husband Scott, Chad Snipes and wife Shana, Melissa Dennis and husband Scott, Doug Haas and wife Jill, Sheri Vandenhoek and husband Dale, David Brackney and wife Becky; many great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Peg) McFaden, Streator, Illinois.Mary Lou was preceded in death by three brothers.Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton with Rev. Phil Collier presiding.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
