Mary Evelyn Dickover, 93 of Lafayette and formerly of Tipton died at 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at St. Mary Healthcare in Lafayette. She was born on May 16, 1921 in Arcadia, Indiana to Charles and Laura (Noble) Wann. Evelyn married Robert Eugene Dickover in 1940; he preceded her in death in November 1983.
Evelyn worked as a nursing aid at Tipton County Memorial Hospital obstetrics for over 30 years. She is a former member at Kemp United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a 1939 graduate of Arcadia High School.
Survivors include her two sons, Melvin Eugene Dickover of Bradenton, Florida, and Neal Wayne Dickover of Lafayette; six grandchildren Kevin, Noel, Khristopher, Craig, Erik Dickover and Sherry Bagley, 13 great-grandchildren Meredith, Thomas, Justin, Sarah, Liliana, Delilah, Stephanie, Amanda, Tyler, Samuel, Michael, Ayden and Katelynn and a great-great-granddaughter Madelyn. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Khris Lee Dickover and brother Merril Wann.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
