Marjorie A. Harvey

Marjorie A. Harvey, 86 of Tipton died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor. She was born December 19, 1924 in Kirklin, Indiana to Ross and Reba Rovene (Sharp) Harvey. She was never married.

Marjorie was a 1942 graduate of Scircleville High School and earned college degrees from Butler and the Library School at Illinois University. She began her library work in Baltimore, Maryland and then Cambridge, Ohio, spanning from 1950 until 1983. She organized the Friends of the Library in Tipton, serving as president and was extensively involved until earlier this year. She belonged to the Tipton County Historical Society, was a member of West Street Christian Church and the Leah Circle. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton the past two years.

Marjorie is survived by one brother, Richard Wayne Harvey, Tipton and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, William.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Linda E. Philabaun presiding. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service.
