Marianna Burget GrayMarianna Burget Gray, 91 of Tipton, died at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Reflection at Wellington in Kokomo.  She was born May 11, 1925 in Prairie Township, Tipton County to Dale E. & Mary M. (Wheatley) Burget.   On September 17, 1959 she married Donald M. Gray and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2013.She graduated from Prairie High School in 1943.  Marianna worked at Delco in Kokomo prior to entering Good Samaritan School of Nursing at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo in 1944.  She joined the WAC (Women's Army Corp) while she was in nursing school and was a reserve member during World War II. After graduating from Nursing School in 1947, Marianna worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Dr. Joe Boughman's office, Tipton County Memorial Hospital, and was Director of Nursing at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton for several years before retiring.   She was a member of Normanda Christian Church and the John Purdue Club.She is survived by a step-son, Gary L. Gray and wife Susie, Rossville; two sisters, Madonna Burget Spratt, Honduras, Marilyn Burget Nash, Tipton; three grandchildren, Shelly Humbarger Miller and husband Matthew, Chris Gray and wife Colleen, Casey Gray; six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Austin, and Emily Miller, CJ, Carson, and Campbell Gray; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Gray.Marianna is also survived by a niece, Shari Smith; nephew, Doug Atchley; three great-nieces, Abbie Smith and husband Nate Stout, Madison DePew and husband Josh, and Kaleigh Atchley; a great-nephew Walker Mehl; two great-great-nieces, Matilda Stout and Raylee Depew, two great-great-nephews, Jack Stout and Asher DePew; two step-nieces, Lisa Nash Miller and husband Rick, Melissa Nash Solomon and husband Steve; three great-step-nephews, Colton Miller, Cody Miller, Kellen Solomon; two great-step-nieces, Caitlyn Miller and Kacy Solomon.She was preceded in death by her husband Don; a son, Michael Gray, two brothers Gerald and C. Don Burget, brothers-in-law John Spratt and Danny Nash.Visitation for Marianna will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.  Her funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Steve Brown presiding and starting with the Nursing Honor Guard memorial service.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Normanda Christian Church, 8019 W.
