Margaret Miller

September 11, 1919 — July 4, 2014

Margaret Miller, 94 of Franklin and a former Tipton resident died at 7:22 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Morning Pointe of Franklin. She was born September 11, 1919 in Tipton County to DeWitt Clinton & Ivra (Hoover) Hobbs. She married Imel Miller on July 23, 1977 and he preceded her in death.

From 1960-68 Margaret owned Debts Consolidated Company in the State Life Building in Indianapolis. She was a member of the American Legion, Order of Eastern Star, Rosary Chapter #66, Koran Temple #30, Tipton County Democratic Women, and Farm Bureau. Margaret was a member of the Tipton County Historical Society, spending 20 years on the board with 12 of those years as president. She was instrumental in the construction of the Heritage Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Karla Albers, Whiteland; three step-children, Jackie Miller, Rita Miller and Eric Miller; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ivra Thompson, one grandson, Lyle Leisen, one great-grandson, Michael Fanning, one brother, DeWitt Clinton Hobbs and one stepson, Kent Miller.

No public services are planned. After cremation she will be interred in Arcadia Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Margaret's honor may be made to the Tipton County Historical Society, 323 W. South Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
