Margaret E. PowellMargaret E. Powell, 91 of Tipton, died at 5:44 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton.  She was born on January 20, 1923 in Sheridan, Indiana to Clayton and Nellie (Thompson) Erp.  On April 12, 1942 Margaret married Luther L. Powell and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1993.Margaret had worked at F.M.C.  She attended West Street Christian Church and had spent some time working in the hospital gift shop.  Margaret graduated from Sheridan High School in 1941, and was a member of the Lady Elks.  Her favorite pass time was spent enjoying following her son's sports activities and all the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Margaret is survived by a son, Rex Powell and fiancé Nancy Leicht of Atlanta; three grandchildren; Donald Powell and wife Kirsten of Frankfort, Illinois, Tom Powell and wife Donna of Kansas City, Kansas, and Steve Powell and wife Shelly of Tipton, three step grandchildren; Teia Ley, Cindy Mills, and Chad Ley and wife Becky, all of Tipton, and 11 great grandchildren.  Along with her husband Luther she was preceded in death by her sister Mildred Dolan.Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.  A private family funeral service will be held at a later date with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding.  After cremation, burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.Memorial donation may be made to Tipton County Public Library, 127 East Madison Street, Tipton, Indiana 46072, Tipton Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop, 1000 S.
