Lorrin Dean Wood

Lorrin Dean WoodLorrin Dean Wood, 66, Tipton, died at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at his residence.  He was born in Amite County, Mississippi on June 5, 1940 to William Edward and Thelma Cora (Adams) Wood.  He married M. Mae Temple in 1968, and she preceded him in death on June 4, 1999.  On February 12, 2000 he married Caryle Swisher, and she survives.He served in the Marine Corps until 1964.  Dean worked at Chrysler in Kokomo, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Nazarene Church in Tipton.Survivors include 2 daughters, Cris Crouch and husband Jim of Arcadia, Indiana, and Brenda Robbins of Sharpsville; 2 step children, Tim Winegarden, Cincinnati, Ohio and Victoria Sexton, Peebles, Ohio;  2 brothers, Orrin Gene Wood, Sullivan, Indiana, and Theodore Wood, Greenwood, Indiana; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Spivey, 2 step-sisters and a step-brother.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Nazarene Church in Tipton with Rev. Ron Karkosky presiding.  Visitation will be from 4:00 -8:00 p.m.  Friday, June 16, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and also Saturday at the Church from 9:00 -10:00 a.m.Memorial donations may be made to:The Nazarene Compassion Ministries
