Lois Sue Grimme

Lois Sue Grimme, 76 of Sharpsville died at 12:02 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Howard County as the result of an auto accident. Her husband Meredith Grimme also died in this accident. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on December 10, 1940 to Jacob B. & Beatrice (Mastin) Dunaway. On June 30, 1988 she married Meredith Grimme.

Lois retired from Delco Electronics – General Motors after 20 years of service. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Lois was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to her family. She loved her family unconditionally. Lois enjoyed getting together with her ever growing family and sharing memories while sharing her love.

She is survived by three children, Jeffrey T. Simms and wife Laura, Kokomo, Ricky D. Simms and his wife, Michele, Kokomo, Lisa D. Wylie and her husband, Michael, Indianapolis; two step-children, Carol J. Railey and her husband, William, Russiaville, Susan G. Phillips and her husband, Terry, Shelbyville; four sisters, Wanda Mae Mastin, Maysville, Kentucky, Patricia Day, Maysville, Kentucky, and Brenda Joyce Moran, Maysville, Kentucky, Sharon Swartz, Lexington, Kentucky.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Daren Todd Simms and wife Kayla, Jacob Lewis Simms and wife Kortney, Amanda Vetor and companion Kyle Gibson, Kory Green, Christopher Ryan Simms, Brooke Yevgenia Simms, Ellie Darya Simms, Emma Valentina Simms, Meghan Elisabeth Knuckles and husband Ryan, Clayton Michael Wylie, Amanda Raelene Wylie, Lauren Heller and husband Derek, William Railey III and companion Stacey Brown, David Railey and wife Hannah, Caitlin Phillips and companion Casey Aldridge; 11 great-grandchildren, Brogan Heller, Simon Hellor, Piper Heller, Isla Heller, Finnegan Railey, Clara Railey, Carter Simms, Skylar Simms, Addison Simms, Dash Gibson, and Mille Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Jeffery Grimme; two brothers, Harold Dunaway, Billy Ray Dunaway; and one sister, Carol Bussell.

Lois and Meredith’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Revs. Bob and Ruth Lawson presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday.
