Linda C. Redd, 73 of Tipton died at her residence at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was born to Carlos & Charlotte (Wicker) Bright in Anderson on November 10, 1944 and had lived in Anderson for 37 years. Linda married Edward Redd on January 11, 1963 and he survives.
She had worked in the Anderson Schools as a cafeteria cook. Linda was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton and the Dorcas Circle there where she made quilts as well as belonging to Ladies Aide. She was a member of the sewing club “Twisted Sisters”. Linda enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and gardening and she loved animals.
Survivors besides her husband Edward include two children, Elizabeth A. Huff and Alexander E. Redd and wife Tracey, all of Tipton; 10 grandchildren, Kathleen, Alexander Jr. and Lucy Redd, Charlotte & Candra Huff, D.J. Smith, Tia Trost, Carly Ortiz, Edward Redd and Curtis Redd, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren and one daughter-in-law, Terry Redd, Texas. She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis E. Redd and one sister, Karen Bright.
Funeral services for Linda will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton with Rev. Dr. Robb Roloff presiding. Burial will follow in the Knights of Pythias, IOOF Cemetery in Frankton. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to either Dorcas Circle or the food pantry, both at Emanuel Lutheran Church.
