Lakeita E. Legg

LaKeita E. LeggLaKeita Legg, 72, of Tipton, entered into eternal life September 29, 2011 at IU Health Tipton Hospital.  She was born in Tipton County on December 22, 1938 to Frank and Jessie (Collingwood) Ricketts.  On August 4, 1957 she married Philip D. Legg and he survives.LaKeita, a proud member of the Tipton High School Class of 1956, was a beautician for many years, first opening LaKeita's Beauty Shop in the 1950's.  She was also a homemaker and a loving wife and mom.She was a member of Kemp United Methodist Church, volunteering for many church and community activities as well as Meals on Wheels and the Democratic Party. LaKeita cherished wintering in Sun City, California and was a "grandmother" to many and a friend to all.LaKeita is survived by her husband, Philip; two daughters, Lor-Anna Jo Legg, Indianapolis, Shawn Dauree LeSavvas and husband Constantinos, Northridge, California; one son, Darrin Legg and wife Heather, Fallbrook, California; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa Legg (Woster), Krista Legg (Woster), Emily and Ryan Larson, and a grandson due February 2012; one brother, Larry Ricketts and wife Alex, Anderson, Indiana.  In recent years Lynnea, Ben, Joe, Samuel, Noah and Isaac Humrichous lovingly adopted Phil and LaKeita as their grandpa and grandma.A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5 at the Kemp United Methodist Church, 228 N. Main Street, Tipton, with Rev. Phil Collier presiding.  The family will receive visitors after the service.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tipton County Foundation in memory of LaKeita E. Legg, P.O.
