Kenny Allan Guffey

Kenny Allan Guffey, 70 of Tipton passed away at 9:47 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022 at IU Health – Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Kenny was born in Tipton on November 19, 1951 to Barry E. & Martha M. (Manier) Guffey. Kenny married Connie Faye Clingaman on June 27, 1988 and they enjoyed 34 years together.

Kenny worked as a forklift dispatcher for Truss Manufacturing, first in Westfield and then later in Tipton. Kenny and Connie had formerly attended East Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Tipton High School and graduated from the John Hinds Career Center in Elwood.

Kenny enjoyed wood-working and made many wishing wells, bridges, wood deer and bird houses. He and Wade spent a lot of quality time together restoring a ‘68 Camaro. Kenny was also a “junker” and lived by the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.

Survivors besides his wife Connie include two sons, Wade Guffey and wife Sahmantha of Kempton and Justin Horsley and wife Joni of Kokomo; one brother, Terry Guffey and wife Linda of Tipton and three grandchildren, Justin Horsley, Jr., Mackenzie Wallace and Colton Wallace. Kenny was preceded in death by one sister, Sherry Guffey.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home where friends will have the opportunity to meet with Kenny’s family. It was Kenny’s desire to not have a funeral service and he will be cremated after the visitation.
