Kathryn R. Cook, 89 of Atlanta, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor. She was born October 12, 1922 in Tipton County to Otto & Flossie (McNew) Baden. On October 20, 1956 she married Robert E. Cook and he survives.
Kathryn worked in dietary at Atlanta School and Tipton Hospital. She was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church where she was active in several groups. Kathryn was also a member of the New Hope Home Economics Club of Tipton County. Her family was the most important thing to Kathryn.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; three daughters, Vickie Hiatt, British Columbia, Canada, Becky Scherer, Noblesville, and Linda Mays, Atlanta; six grandchildren, Kristy Hiatt, Canada, Robbie Hiatt, Canada, Rick Scherer, Colorado, Missy Scherer, Colorado, Brian Mays, Georgia, and Scott Mays, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jo Ann Knotts, Michigan, and Barbara Fike, Kokomo. Kathryn was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Baden, and James Delmas Baden.
Kathryn's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Barnett presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
