Julie A. PlakeJulie A. Plake, 71 of Tipton died Monday, May 18, 2015 at St.
Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born in Tipton on
February 5, 1944 to A.G. & Berniece (Powell) Tebbe. She
married Charles E. Sowders in 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1967.Julie worked as a Loan Administrative Assistant at Farmers Loan &
Trust, now BMO Harris, for over 40 years. She was a
member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary
Society and St. Christopher Auxiliary where she was president in
2007. She enjoyed line dancing and belonged to the Desert Rose
Dancers group. Julie volunteered for the Tipton Community Theatre,
IU Health Tipton Hospital gift shop and the Tipton County Public
Library.She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Andrew W. Plake,
Noblesville, Andrea J. Duvall and husband Joe, Atlanta, Jason A.
Plake, Carmel and Tracie L. Delph and husband Earl, Noblesville;
four sisters and three brothers, Virginia M. Baker, Robert J. Tebbe
and wife Zonda, Helen T. Matthews, Alice E.
Gray, Leona C. Stout and husband John, Leonard J. Tebbe, and George A. Tebbe
and wife Jamie; her ex-husband Jim Plake, Tipton.Julie also has six grandchildren, Brian J. Plake, Colby Plake,
Samuel Duvall, Lilly Duvall, Madison (Delph) Gillroy and husband
Christopher and Logan J. Delph and wife Brittany; three step-grandchildren, Joshua Delph
and wife Cammie, Adam Delph and wife Ryann, Breanna (Delph) Miller
and husband Alex; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson Plake, Aubree
Delph and Cameron Delph; four step-great-grandchildren,
Ellie Delph, Erela Delph, Taylor Light and Cameron Light.A funeral mass for Julie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May
22
at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher
Shocklee presiding. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Young-Nichols
