Juanita M. Ripberger, 87 of Tipton died at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton. She was born in Kokomo on December 2, 1924 to Ed and Margaret (Jung) Bendler. On August 20, 1949 she married Bernard J. Ripberger and he preceded her in death.
She was a secretary for Prudential Life, and had worked for Sears and T-Way in retail services. Juanita belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the Silver Bells Home-Ec Club, and the Tipton County Home Extension Makers. She also served on a Ration Board during WWII.
Survivors include four children, Jerry Ripberger, Creal Springs, Illinois; Jeff Ripberger, Indianapolis; Julianna Jerger, Wilmington, Delaware; and Jeannie Nixon, Bloomingdale, Georgia. She has five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a vigil and rosary service at 5:00 p.m.
