Joseph W. “Joe” Young

Joseph W. “Joe” Young, 60 of Tipton died on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Tipton. He was born on June 8, 1956 in Tipton to J. Wendell & Mary (Bronson) Young. On April 9, 1980 he married Cheryl McCord and she survives.

Joe worked for the Tipton County Highway Department for over 30 years. He also attended Tipton High School and later took classes at John Hinds in Elwood for two years studying auto body repair. Joe was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife , Cheryl; four sons, Joseph “Joey” Young, II and wife Charla, Tipton, James “Jamey” Young, Tipton, Scott Williams, Tipton, Robert “Rob” Williams and wife Ronda, Kokomo; two brothers, J.W. “Skip” Young and wife Helen, Stafford, Virginia, John Young, Scircleville; eleven grandchildren, Kaibryn Williams, Anderson Williams, Alexis Russ, Kaden Russ, Emma Williams, Taylor Simmons, Drew Williams, Avean Young, Jaidan Young, Emicho Young, Branwyn Young and a nephew, Jay Wendell Young.

Funeral services for Joe will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Ward. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
