Joe A.  SamuelsJoe A.  Samuels, 87, of Noblesville and a former Tipton resident died at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville.  He was born in Tipton County on June 19, 1927 to Arthur and Carrie (Jackson) Samuels.  On May 16, 1953 Joe married Phyllis Lord and she survives.Joe worked as a Quality Control Technician for General Motors in Kokomo, retiring in 1982.  He was also a member of the West Street Christian Church and enjoyed working on old radios, woodworking , gardening, and traveling.  Joe Served in the United States Air Force from 1945 until 1952.Along with his wife, Joe is survived by three children, Karen Sheasley and husband Frank, The Villages, Florida,  Kathy Ripberger and husband Fred Lexington, Indiana, and Mark Samuels and wife Kathy, Anderson; four grandchildren, Brad Purvis, Danielle Carroll, Donna Sheasley, and Erin Moody; six great grandchildren, Haylee and Ryan Carroll, Riley Purvis, Lauryn Sheasley, and Aidan and Conner Moody. Joe is also survived by two sisters, Eva Mae Carey, and Anna Grant; one sister-in-law Mabel Calloway.Joe was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Bill, Ralph, and Glen Samuels; four sisters, Bea Johnson, Martha Armstrong, Mary Stewart, and Lylith Albertis.Funeral services for Joe will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 4 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.Memorial donations may be made to the West Street Christian Church, 132 N. West Street, Tipton, Indiana,  46072, or the Alzheimers Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46240.
