Jim King

Jim King, 74 of Tipton died at 11:01 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Riverview Health in Noblesville.  He was born in Tipton on March 29, 1945 to James Wayne King, Jr. and Kathleen A. (Barnes) King.  He married Cher Borgardt on May 10, 1974 and she preceded him in death on January 27, 2009.

Jim worked as a machinist at Chrysler, retiring in 2001.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks and Moose Lodge.  Jim loved to go fishing and boating.  He was a fan of both NASCAR and the Indianapolis 500 and enjoyed gardening.  Jim also liked camping at his club in Bloomington.

Survivors include two daughters, Angie Heinzmann and husband Corey, Tipton, and Nikki Scott and husband Mike, Indianapolis; one grandson, Brody Heinzmann and a special friend, Sandy Adams. He is also survived by one niece, Karen Kennedy and husband David, a great-niece, Leah, and several cousins.  Jim was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Connie & John Lauderbaugh.

Visitation for Jim will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.  A memorial service lead by Jim’s family will begin at 7:00 p.m. starting with a Masonic service.
