Jessie E. Ricketts

Jessie E. RickettsJessie E. Ricketts, 96, Tipton, died at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.  She was born November 10, 1911 in Atlanta to Foster M. & Laura E. (Thurston) Collingwood and was a lifelong resident in Tipton County.  On July 6, 1935 she married Frank L. Ricketts and he died in 1969.Jessie was a homemaker and had worked at Tipton Hospital in the 1950's, the Cicero Children's Home in the 1970's and more recently at Pioneer Corn production as a seasonal employee.  She enjoyed making quilts to be donated and was know as a great cook and pie maker.Jessie has two children, Larry A. Ricketts and wife Alex of Anderson and La Keita E. Legg and husband Phil of Tipton.  She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Lori Legg of Indianapolis; Shawn LeSavvas and husband Costas of California, Darrin Legg of California and wife Heather, children Alyssa and Krista Legg, and Ryan and Emily, Frank T. Ricketts and son Andrew of Lapel, and Vicki L. Ricketts of Anderson; one sister, Sadie M. Thatcher of Anderson. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3,  at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton, with Rev. Phil Collier presiding.  No visitation is scheduled.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O.
