Jerome E. “Jerry” Marschke, 73 of Kokomo died at 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Kokomo. He was born on May 10, 1944 in Tipton to August & Katherine (Walpe) Marschke.
He retired from Milbank Manufacturing in Kokomo where he worked for 19 years. Jerry was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing golf and was an 8 & 9 ball pool player. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by three children, Mark Marschke, Frankfort, Tereasa McKinnie and husband Herman, Kokomo, Joe Marschke and wife Angel, Tipton; two sisters, Frieda Plake and husband Phil, Tipton, Bertha A McGraw, Centerville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Christopher McKinnie, Elizabeth Pitts, Austin Cook, Tebraya Holmes, Tara McNew, Marc Hurston, Marlania Marschke, Tyler Hurston, Adam Marschke, Caidan Marschke, and Carter Marschke; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13 at the National Cemetery in Marion with military honors. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
