Jean Kelley

Jean Kelley, age 94 of Tipton died at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.  She was born in Kempton on April 14, 1924 to Oliver and Bessie (Boyer) Smith.  Jean married James W. Kelley on January 14, 1944; he preceded her in death on April 2, 2016.

Jean moved to Tipton and went to grade school at the First Ward and was a 1942 graduate of Tipton High School.  She worked at Jim Dandy for over 26 years, managing the restaurant.

Survivors include two sons, William A. Kelley of Michigan and Michael D. Kelley of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by four sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be Monday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton with Rev. Doug Slack presiding.  There will be no visitation prior.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
