Janice M. Ziegler, 80 of Tipton died at 9:22 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born in Atlanta, Indiana on March 29, 1933 to James Monroe and Lottie Mae (Jackson) Warfel. Janice married William "Bill" Ziegler on April 19, 1952, and he survives.
Janice was retired from the Tipton County Library. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was active in the Prayer Shawl group and the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed volunteering at the church in a multitude of ways. She also belonged to the Mid-America Threshing Club.
Survivors besides her husband include two children, Lynda Summers and husband Benton of Kansas City, Kansas and Tony Ziegler and wife Sammy of Tipton. She has three grandchildren, Lindsay Carrier and husband Andrew, Erin Donnell and husband Matthew and Justin Ziegler and significant other Danielle Caldwell, and five great grandchildren, Kassidy and Mckinley Carrier, Ella, Jacob and Quinn Donnell, and also a sister, Jane Chappell and husband Dick of Noblesville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Dick Warfel and four sisters, Evelyn Hines, Patricia Colson, Mary Alice Logan and Donna Sullivan.
Funeral services will be on at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Shocklee presiding. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton with a rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m.
