On November 16, 2019, Eva Jane McNeal, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home at the age of 95. She was born on January 29, 1924 to the late Virgil and Nellie (Mason) Hinkle. Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband and high school sweetheart, David M. McNeal. David and Jane left a beautiful legacy of selfless love for 72 years of marriage.
After 30 years of service to Delco Radio, they enjoyed many years of retirement while traveling abroad, camping, spending time with their grandchildren and enjoying winters together in Harlingen, Texas. Jane was dearly loved by her family and community. She was a graduate from Tipton High School in 1942. As an active officer and hostess of her Home Economics Club, Jane enjoyed painting porcelain, crochet, and making crafts for her family and friends.
Jane was the founding member of the Tipton County Daughters of the American Revolution and had a passion for history.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 siblings and twin newborn sons, Lester and Chester. Jane is survived by her three sons David Glenn (Karen) McNeal, Max Kenneth (Susan) McNeal, Tim Joe (Cecilia) McNeal, 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for Jane’s niece, Patty McKinney, who was more like a daughter to her and her caretaker for the last five years.
There will be a private funeral service for immediate family at Young – Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Memorial contributions in honor of Jane may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Tipton, 200 West Jefferson Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.
