James R. Tudor

James R. TudorJames R Tudor, born July 12, 1924 passed away peacefully in his sleep in Lakeland, Florida on December 15, 2012.  Jim was a graduate of Tipton High School, served in the Army Air Corps in WWII and then graduated from the University of Michigan.  He was the former owner of Tudor & Yager telephone construction company in Tipton.   Jim was a member of Kemp Memorial Methodist Church, sat on the board of the First Federal Savings and Loan, was a city councilman for 25 years in Tipton, and a member of the Elks of Tipton.   He was an avid golfer and he and his wife traveled extensively.  Jim most recently resided in Rio Verde, Arizona and at Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, Indiana.   Survivors include his wife of 65 years Jane Leist Tudor; a son James C. Tudor of Alaska; a daughter Jody Stephenson and husband Gary of Florida; a sister Hilda Tudor Smith of Tipton and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Marvin & Leona (Eaton) Tudor.   Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
