James E. Beaty, 82, of Tipton, died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born November 24, 1930 in Griffith, Indiana to Cletus Vane & Eleanor (Taylor) Beaty and lived there until about 1950. He married Delene Edell Montgomery on November 10, 1951 and she preceded him in death on November 1, 1994. He later married Jean Hause and she survives.
Jim was an accountant and owner of Beaty's Quick Wash in Elwood and Tipton. He had worked as a tax auditor for the State of Indiana. Jim had attended the West Street Christian Church and Methodist churches. He also attended Taylor University.
Survivors include five children, Deborah Beaty-Rist and husband John, Ft. Wayne, James E. Beaty II and wife Jennifer, Little Elm, Texas, John Beaty and wife Cathy, Tipton, Aaron Beaty and wife Penny, Tipton, and Ian M. Beaty and wife Athena, Kokomo. Jim is also survived by seven grandchildren, Seth, Alex, Jennifer, Mallory, Dominique, Kierah, and Ellana.
He was preceded in death by brothers Rex, Max and Neal Beaty, two sisters, Marjorie Hayden and Eleanor Fechner.
Jim's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Collier presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
