Jackie P. "Jack" Smith, of Tipton, a Godly man, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend died at the age of 86 at 10:02 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born in Tipton County to Ezra "Buzz" and Margaret (Cuppy) Smith. He married Mary Anne Armstrong and she survives.
Jack worked at Perfect Circle Tool & Die as a Machinist. He also worked at Fred's Marathon. Jack was a member of the Oasis Church in Tipton. He also served in the United States Air Force.
Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; three children, Jackie Yentes and husband Dan, Austin, Texas, Joe Smith and wife Teri, Tipton, Angie Bergeson and husband Soren, New York, New York; three sisters, Kita Ogden and husband Bob, Dee Henry and husband Fred, Pam Hulin and husband Rick; 13 grandchildren, Angela Stromberger and husband Steve, Starr Eubank, Maiya Budu and husband Nana, Jody Delaplane and husband Matt, Lora Kinyon and husband Dave, Elise Pinòn and husband Alfredo, Rene Smith, Sean Yentes and wife Heather, Tara Smith and husband Jamie, Taelor Wood, Hanna Wood, Lars Bergeson, and Winona Bergeson; 18 great-grandchildren.
Jack's funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22 at Oasis Community Church, Tipton with Pastor Kim Drake presiding and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.
