Jack R. RamsayJack Richard Ramsay, resident of Tipton, IN and Rio Verde, AZ, died
of complications from Alzheimers on Monday, January 26, 2015. Born
on January 23, 1922 in Tipton, Jack was the son of Floyd Nicholson
and Marie "Lily" Chenouard Ramsay.
He graduated from Tipton High School in 1940 and received a degree
in accounting from the Indiana University School of Business. After
serving as an Army supply officer in France during WWII, he founded
the JR Ramsay Printing Company in Tipton. Jack was a member of Kemp
United Methodist Church, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, the Elks Lodge,
and a board member of Citizens National and National City Banks. He
loved golf, traveling (especially to France, his mothers homeland),
and being with people. Nothing made him happier than sharing a joke
or good wine with family and friends. He spent his retirement years
in Rio Verde, AZ.
Jack's wife of 60 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Bercaw Ramsay preceded him
in death in 2004. He is survived by his daughters: Susan (Ron)
Warren of Tipton, IN; Janet (Mel) Piepho of Richland, WA.; and Lynn
(Bill) Heinz of Freeport, ME. Jack had eight grandchildren: Chris
Warren of Noblesville; Rick (Julia) Warren of Noblesville; Katie
(Jeff) Bal of Cincinnati, OH; Trent (Kristin) Piepho of Seattle, WA;
Sarah Piepho (Adam Hockey) of Kent, WA; Blake Piepho (Ling Yang) of
San Diego, CA; Nick Heinz of Indianapolis, IN; Alexandra Heinz of
Cambridge, MA. Jack had eight great-grandchildren: Jack, Curt and
Faith Warren; Ellie, Ansley and Aliya Warren; Logan and Greyson Bal.
Jack is also survived by his sister, Claudette Ramsay Leist of
Elkhart, IN.
Jack's memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 2
PM at Young Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Eberhart
officiating and burial in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will begin at noon at the funeral home. Memorial
