Jack E. Davis

Jack E. Davis, 86 of Tipton died at 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Tipton on June 2, 1932 to Noah E. and Madeline T. (Dunn) Davis. Jack was never married.

He was the owner and operator of the Independence Trading Center, west of Tipton, for over 60 years. He enjoyed collecting antiques and Model T Fords. Jack was a graduate of Arcadia High School. In his early days Jack, his father and grandfather owned and shared the duties of running the Tipton County Packing Company.

Jack is survived by a sister-in-law, Dixie Davis, Arcadia; two nieces and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Ann Davis and his brother, Ronald E. Davis

A graveside service was held Tuesday, September 4, at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton with Pastor Joe Brock presiding.

Memorial donations in Jack’s honor may be made to the Tipton County Historical Society, 323 W. South Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072. Young-Nichols Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
